Know Your Hosting Provider
When it comes to seeking a new hosting solution for your website, please ask the following questions:
  • Is my current web hosting provider SSAE 16 Type II certified?
  • Is my current web hosting provider monitored 24/7/365 by Certified Network Technicians?
  • Is my current web hosting provider offering disaster recovery services for data and hardware failures?
  • Is my current web hosting provider performing timely and recommended critical security and software updates?
  • Is my current web hosting provider protecting my website and its host server via a dedicated external firewall device?

Simple, reliable and highly secure!
We make our web hosting simple, reliable and highly secure. Our enhanced hosting plans guarantees your data receives 24/7/365 on-site monitoring, disaster recovery protection, dedicated firewall security and support in industry leading SSAE 16 Certified Data Centers. Along with an uptime guarantee of 99.9%, we deliver the security, support and expertise you require.

Never undervalue or take your website and hosting security for granted. An improperly coded webpage can present as much a security vulnerability as an unsecured web server. By combining a professionally built website along with an industry leading hosting provider, your site can be deemed safe, secure and compliant.

Semi-Dedicated Hosting
Our semi-dedicated hosting plans utilize web servers specifically dedicated to NexusOne Media and its hosting clients. Each individual website is given its own partition or slice of the host web server. With fewer websites per server, semi-dedicated hosting provides you with the performance, reliability and security you require.

SSAE 16 (formerly SAS 70)
Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) No. 16 is an attestation standard put forth by the Auditing Standards Board (ASB) of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) that addresses engagements undertaken by a service auditor for reporting on controls at organizations (i.e., service organizations) that provide services to user entities, for which a service organization's controls are likely to be relevant to a user entities internal control over financial reporting (ICFR).

SSAE 16 effectively replaces Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 (SAS 70) for service auditor's reporting periods ending on or after June 15, 2011. Two (2) types of SSAE 16 reports are to be issued, a Type 1 and a Type 2. Type 1 reports present the auditors’ opinion regarding the accuracy and completeness of management’s description of the system or service as well as the suitability of the design of controls as of a specific date.  A Type 2 SOC 1 report includes the Type 1 criteria AND audits the operating effectiveness of the controls throughout a declared time period, generally between six months and one year.  Like SAS 70, there is no official SSAE 16 or SOC 1 certification.

SOC 2 and SOC 3 provide much more stringent audit requirements with a stronger set of controls and requirements specifically designed around data center service organizations.  SOC 2 and SOC 3 provide a standard benchmark by which two data center audits can be compared against the same set of criteria. In contrast to an SSAE-16 engagement, where the data center operator defines the criteria for an audit, the SOC 2 Report uses specifically pre-defined control  criteria related to 1) security, 2) availability, 3) processing integrity, 4) confidentiality or 5) privacy of a system and its information.

SOC 2 provides a standard benchmark by which two data center audit reports can be compared and the reader can be assured that the same set of criteria was used to evaluate each.

SSAE 16 (SOC 1) Type II Certified
NexusOne Media's SSAE 16 (SOC 1) certified semi-dedicated hosting services are provided in association with Rackspace Hosting.

Rackspace Hosting has successfully completed an examination in conformity with the Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) No. 16 SOC 1, Type II report that was performed by independent auditor, Ernst & Young LLP.

Rackspace's SSAE 16 audit enables the company to further its expansion in the enterprise market by delivering certification of the controls needed for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.

Rackspace's processes, procedures and controls have been formally reviewed and evaluated, and meet SSAE 16 standards. The audit evaluated Rackspace's controls related to service delivery and operations, infrastructure maintenance, customer implementation, change management, backup of programs and data files and logical and physical data center access.

PCI Security Standards
The PCI Security Standards Council is an open global forum for the ongoing development, enhancement, storage, dissemination and implementation of security standards for payment card account data protection. Endorsed by American Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB, MasterCard Worldwide and Visa Inc., the Council's members have a voice in shaping the PCI Data Security Standard, an organization's best protection against data criminals. By participating in the Council, vendors have access to the latest payment card security standards while playing an active part in setting the standards.

Safe Harbor
Safe Harbor certifies that participants provide "adequate" privacy protection by the standard of the European Commission's Directive on Data Protection. For you, it means that data can flow unhindered in and out of European Union (EU) countries, saving time and money by removing the obstacles encountered by non Safe Harbor Certified providers.

HIPAA Compliance
The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance refers to the protection of individually identifiable health information. These standards encompass administrative procedures, technical security mechanisms and services and physical safeguards.

Restrictions and Limitations
Due to the enhanced security measures we've established within our hosting environments, third-party publishing services including remote access are restricted and unavailable within our semi-dedicated enhanced hosting plans. Site content revisions within this area may only be performed through a provided Content Management System or NexusOne Media customer support.

Customer Support
If you need assistance with website maintenance or have not choosen to use a Content Management System (CMS), a maintenance bundle can be added into any monthly hosting package. Bundled support plans can save up to 30% on hourly maintenance fees.
